Practicum Student
Supervised by S. Elizabeth Arredondo LPC-S
Roxanne’s graduate studies have prepared her to work with a variety of clients including children, adolescents, couples, families, and individual adults with various struggles. While she is honing her skills at HFC, she is under the supervision of a licensed clinician here, and also a professor of counseling at her University. Working with Roxanne affords clients not just one, but three therapists strategizing ways to help them achieve their goals.
Roxanne is currently enrolled in Lamar University’s Couple and Family Counseling Graduate Program with a 4.0 GPA. When she is not in class learning new and innovative counseling techniques and theories, she is working at the Wesley Community Center with underserved children and their families or volunteering for a crisis text line where she supports people of all ages and backgrounds in their most difficult moments. Her previous volunteer experience includes serving at a center for autistic children and adults, and for a literacy program where she helped teens and adults improve their English language skills.
Roxanne’s passion for serving others prompted her to leave an engineering career in the oil and gas industry and return to school to be a counselor. The dedicated work that she does with her clients at Houston Family Counseling definitely reflects that she is moving into a position that aligns with her values and talents.
