Practicum Student
Courtney is training at Houston Family Counseling as part of her Masters of Counseling program at highly acclaimed Walden University. She has proven her dedication to a counseling career by eagerly engaging in training beyond what is provided at her University and embracing the culture of learning and collaboration at HFC. Aside from the counseling skills she already has been taught, she is becoming well versed in Gottman's Marriage Counseling techniques, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and play therapy techniques, among other evidence based practices. She is working under the supervision of a seasoned clinical and academic supervisor at her school, and also under our director, Elizabeth Hill Arredondo. She’s ready to use the skills she is learning to help clients ranging in age from early childhood to older adults and with struggles with anxiety, mood, relationship issues, and difficulty adjusting to life’s inevitable stressors.
